PANTRY DONATIONS

SCFB

Along with creating a family-friendly event, Making Spirits Bright also partners with Sheboygan County Food Bank (SCFB) to give back to the community. Both organizations recruit volunteers to help collect thousands of pounds of non-perishable food and personal care items for families facing hunger.

Volunteers gather donated items from visitors to Making Spirits Bright and deliver those donations to SCFB’s warehouse. Over 850,000 pounds of pantry items have been collected since 2012.

SCFB also has received generous monetary donations from Making Spirits Bright for necessary equipment and supplies. In 2022, Making Spirits Bright donated $20,000 to help purchase a variety of healthy foods and fund programs – such as Food for Thought and the Community Cafe, which nourish children and homeless individuals, respectively – adding up to a grand total of $135,000 in support of SCFB’s work over the past decade.

“Making Spirits Bright donations are critical for keeping our supply of food up during the holiday season each year. We truly appreciate our special partnership and the other ways they have supported us to help make sure families, seniors, and children in Sheboygan County don’t go hungry,” said Patrick Boyle, Executive Director of SCFB.

WHY DONATE?

How do your pantry donations make a difference?

There is an increased, ongoing appeal for personal hygiene items which don't always come to mind when you think of a food pantry. Please consider purchasing these items on your next grocery store trip to avoid the collection of expired food. If you pull something off the shelf, please remember to check the expiration.
