2020 Volunteers

Volunteer Trailer Hosts and Hostesses

Like everything else it seems, adjustments were made to the way we operate our volunteer trailer this year due to Covid-19. Instead of someone being present the entire night, the following hosts and hostesses will prepare the refreshments for the nightly volunteer crews and have the trailer ready for use.

  • Rick & Kim Cawthon
  • Roger & Sharon Dulmes
  • Tom Greene
  • Elaine Jumes
  • Mary Matzdorf
  • Heather & Luke Meyer
  • Sue Meyer
  • Amanda Roethel
  • Tim & Christine Schmidt
  • Valarie Van Sickle

Park Captains

To ensure all goes as planned nightly, there is a point person who oversees the volunteers: a park captain. The captain ÔÇťopens the show," stocks booklets in the igloo, instructs and assigns each volunteer and equips them with safety gear and maybe even hand and toe warmers. On occasion, they trouble-shoot issues with displays or any other unusual situation thrown at them, and overall, they are ambassadors for Making Spirits Bright. Please help us say thank you to:

  • David Hoffman
  • Greg Liebig
  • Ron Navis
  • Gerry Plehn
  • Dan Redman
  • Eric Sandvig
  • Judy Slawny

Please Consider Volunteering

Park Volunteers

Approximately 1,000 volunteers will assist in the operation of Making Spirits Bright during the 34 evenings we are open this year. If you or your group would like to help, here are areas help is needed:

  • set-up and dismantle the entire route of displays
  • collect donated food items
  • drive truck with food items to the warehouse
  • welcome and guide visitors
  • distribute booklets and accept cash donations
  • serve as host/hostess in the volunteer trailer
  • sell concessions and wreath raffle tickets
  • and many other important activities
